The L’Oreal Paris National Movie Awards is a glamour-filled evening of star-studded surprises and high-octane entertainment with exclusive performance spectaculars from the UK’s biggest bands, including a TV First from JLS ahead of their first 3D movie release Eyes Wide Open.

The biggest date in the movie calendar, the L’Oreal Paris National Movie Awards, is back, with new host Christine Bleakley presiding over an exciting line up of A list nominees live from the mammoth Wembley Arena on Wednesday 11th May, exclusively on ITV1.

Tickets are now on release for the spectacular ceremony, which aside from a new host and a new venue, features an exciting line up of guest performers due to be announced in the coming days.

Celebrating the big screen’s biggest stories, the glamour filled event will see a host of stars hit the red carpet in the hope of claiming a coveted NMA.

Now in its fourth year, past attendees have included Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jamie Foxx and Nicole Kidman.

Homegrown films will battle it out against the might of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters in an event whose distinctive feature is that all the awards are chosen by the biggest Academy of all…the public, via a massive nationwide poll.

The short list of nominees certifies 2011 as a classic year for British film, with highlights including:

Gayle Tait L’Oreal Paris General Manager says “For the second year running, L’Oréal Paris is proud to sponsor the National Movie awards. A star studded event that is voted for by the public, which perfectly mirrors L’Oréal Paris’ passion for red-carpet glamour.”

Barry Jenkins OBE, Chair of All Industry Marketing (AIM), said: “The UK film and cinema industry is delighted to be supporting the National Movie Awards and working with Indigo Television again this year. It’s a unique people’s choice show that celebrates today’s cinema experience, and it also gives ITV1 viewers a first-look at the wonderful line-up in cinemas this summer. This year too we’re pleased that the event is casting a spotlight on British filmmakers of today and tomorrow.”
