Categories include Movie of the Year (King’s Speech, Black Swan, The Social Network and 127 Hours), Comedy, Fantasy, Performance and Must See Movie (upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean:On Stranger Tides, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, X-Men: First Class and The Hangover Part II).
The L’Oreal Paris National Movie Awards is a glamour-filled evening of star-studded surprises and high-octane entertainment with exclusive performance spectaculars from the UK’s biggest bands, including a TV First from JLS ahead of their first 3D movie release Eyes Wide Open.
The biggest date in the movie calendar, the L’Oreal Paris National Movie Awards, is back, with new host Christine Bleakley presiding over an exciting line up of A list nominees live from the mammoth Wembley Arena on Wednesday 11th May, exclusively on ITV1.
Tickets are now on release for the spectacular ceremony, which aside from a new host and a new venue, features an exciting line up of guest performers due to be announced in the coming days.
Celebrating the big screen’s biggest stories, the glamour filled event will see a host of stars hit the red carpet in the hope of claiming a coveted NMA.
Now in its fourth year, past attendees have included Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jamie Foxx and Nicole Kidman.
Homegrown films will battle it out against the might of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters in an event whose distinctive feature is that all the awards are chosen by the biggest Academy of all…the public, via a massive nationwide poll.
The short list of nominees certifies 2011 as a classic year for British film, with highlights including:
Brit Successes The King’s Speech and 127 Hours challenge Black Swan and The Social Network, Brit animation smash Gnomeo & Juliet goes up against Disney’s Tangled, Brit comedy Paul takes on the might of Little Fockers
