The fall out from ITV’s expose documentary Exposure: The Other Side of Jimmy Savile continues today with yet more claims alleging that Savile was in fact a “predatory paedophile.”
Additionally, The Sun claims that Savile – who of course worked for the BBC for decades – had an “accomplice” at the corporation who helped the late DJ and presenter to not only cover up his paedophilic activities, but also to take part in the abuse of children.
This latest accusation comes from a woman called Sandra who claims that Savile abused her inside his caravan, which was sited outside the BBC’s studios in West London, and that he later disappeared before another man raped her.
She said, “There is no doubt in my mind that this was all planned – with him and Jimmy.
“I didn’t understand at the time but it is obvious now.”
Another woman who made similar claims, Kim Anderson, says Savile attacked her on his tour bus.
She explained, “I had to fight him off. I sat down and he lunged at me. He wanted me to touch him, and he lunged at me again and kissed me.
“I went back out to where everyone was sitting and this accomplice, who idolised Jimmy Savile, told me to go back in there. I didn’t.”
The paper adds, “The alleged accomplice, who no longer works at the BBC, denied the accusations last night. He said: ‘I don’t remember any of this. I can’t see why the accusations have been made. I have never raped anyone.’”
But one of the most unsettling claims made this week have come from June Thornton, who claims that she witnessed Savile molesting an unconscious young girl at Leeds General Hospital in 1972.
June explained that the girl had had brain surgery and when she saw Savile approach the girl’s bed, she assumed he was there to see if he could help the child.
She said, “He just helped himself to her. I can still remember seeing exactly what he did. He molested her.
“He rubbed his hands over her chest and further down her front.
“I told a nurse, but she took no notice and nothing was done.
“I remember saying, ‘Don’t let that man anywhere near me. If he does, I will scream the place down’.”
June added, “He was evil. He should be stripped of his knighthood.”
Another woman told the paper that she was groped by the DJ — who was an unpaid porter at the hospital — as she was wheeled from an operating theatre in agony.
She says that while she was “crying in pain” Savile fondled her chest.
Of him, the woman said, “Whenever I saw him on TV I thought, ‘Dirty old git’ and switched channels.
“I felt angry when I saw his funeral on TV. He was paraded like some kind of saint.”
Do you think Savile’s knighthood should be taken away?
