New ‘Dallas’ reboot could be headed our way!

American TV network TNT has ordered ten episodes of a reboot version of ‘80s hit soap Dallas to be made, and the good news is, if it proves a hit, we’ll be getting the show here in the UK in 2012!

Ahead of a preview that’s being shown on US TV tomorrow night, TNT have set up a Dallas Facebook page – which you can visit by clicking here – where you can see pictures from the set and of all the characters, new and old.

And of course as viewers of the original series will be pleased to hear, Larry Hagman’s back as mean ole boy JR!

Michael Wright, the executive vice president and head of programming for TNT, TBS, and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) told The Hollywood Reporter, “It wasn’t until we read Cynthia Cidre’s outstanding pilot script that we knew we had the foundation for a great new series.

“It is incredibly exciting to see both new and familiar characters in the hands of a dream cast under the guidance of the enormously talented Cidre and Mike Robin.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with how Dallas has come together.”

The pilot episode is said to focus on the Ewing offspring – J.R. Ewing’s son, John Ross, and Christopher, the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing – as they clash over who gets control of the Ewing empire.

And as I mentioned, Larry Hagman is back, as is Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing and Linda Gray as Sue Ellen.

Desperate Housewives star Josh Henderson will play John Ross, while Jordana Brewster (of Fast & Furious fame) will play Elena, who’s involved in a love triangle with Christopher and John.
