Fans of Doctor Who have been eagerly awaiting the launch of a new online game to accompany the show, and the good news is, it’s now available!

Entitled, Worlds in Time, you can play the game by clicking here, however, the game as it is now is actually a preview version. The full version will be available in 2012.

However, it’s free, it’s multiplayer and it’s customizable in several ways. You can also get on a variety of missions, with titles such as The Library and New New York, Messaline, Skaro, and you can also interact with Daleks, Weeping Angels and Cybermen.

The game was designed by media company, Three Rings, and its CEO, Daniel James, said of the game, “As a huge Doctor Who fan, the chance to develop this game with BBC Worldwide was a dream opportunity…

“We’ve worked to provide Doctor Who fans an experience that matches the quality and imagination of the TV show.

“And a forum to introduce casual gamers to this remarkable world with an experience accessible to players of all levels.”

Here’s a look at a promo for the game…

Perhaps the show’s executive producer, Steven Moffat, should take some time out to play a little Who online, given that he’s finding his workload rather stressful!

While speaking to the Daily Mirror, Moffat – who also writes for BBC drama, Sherlock – said, “I never find any time to relax. All the stuff that surrounds it can be relentless.”

And he hinted that he could be going to give up working on Doctor Who at some point, saying, “I haven’t got a plan but I am definitely going to be handing it to someone else.”

Yikes! Anyway, if you play the game online, please call back and let us know what you think of it.
