The BBC have teased us ‘Enders fans with a few more tidbits about what’s coming up on the show over Christmas, as well as releasing some new pics of the all important episodes.
First off, hopeless romantic – or scheming money grabber, depending on what his motivation really is – Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) has a Christmas Day arranged for Janine Malloy (Charlie Brooks) that many women can only dream of…
The storyline begins when Janine is rejected by her family over at Pat Evans’ (Pam St Clement) house because of the strict rules she’s applied to the recent loan of £50,000 that she gave Pat to stop her house being repossessed.
Arguing that it’s only business, and quite aside from family, Janine’s words fall of deaf ears as Bianca (Patsy Palmer) tears a strip off her for her harshness over the deal…
So, upset at being excluded from the Butcher-Jackson Christmas Day, Janine forlornly makes her way to the office, where Michael’s surprise awaits her.
She’s overcome when she sees the office bedecked in lights and beautiful decorations, and a full waiting on catering service on hand to serve her a lavish dinner.
However, after Christmas, still feeling the sting of her family’s rejection, she puts yet more pressure on Pat over the loan, and when Bianca steps in yet again to tell Janine that Pat is an ill woman and shouldn’t be under all this stress, Janine makes it clear she’s not buying it.
But, she has something else on her mind by the time New Year rolls around; she’s pregnant!
More on that as we get it!
Meanwhile, Zainab Masood (Nina Wadia) is still desperate to escape from Yusef (Ace Bhatti) but she can’t make any move to get away until she knows where her son Kamil is.
And of course, on Christmas Eve, her ex-husband Masood (Nitin Ganatra) is set to – finally – find the desperate plea for help note that she pushed through his door last week.
He manages to get Zainab alone, and as she pours her heart out to the kindly postie, overwhelmed with guilt over what’s happened to them both, Masood kisses Zainab. But, dun dun dun, Jane (Laurie Brett) sees the kiss, and later, she drunkenly tells Yusef about it.
So, on Christmas Day, Yusef will confront Zainab about the kiss, and of course, he’ll threaten her that something dire could happen to Kamil because of her actions.
But phew, later in the day, Zainab spots Masood holding Kamil, having successfully foiled Yusef’s dastardly plan…
However, Yusef isn’t about to let that all go by unpunished, and he grabs Zainab, telling her that he will never, ever let her go.
Don’t miss a second of the drama which kicks off from Christmas Eve at 8.30pm and continues on Christmas Day at 9pm on BBC One.
