New Game Of Thrones posters released in time for Comic Con – Kit Harington cancels panel appearance

With the stars and the brains behind Game Of Thrones making their way to Comic Con this week, some fabulous new posters have been released for the show.

Collectors will be elated to finally see some new merchandise hit the shelves, as Mondo have taken space at booth #437 and will be offering these three new look posters, including a great black and white screen printed one of some of the show’s major characters.

Mondo has partnered officially with HBO so the pictures are fully authorised and have been produced by artists Daniel Danger, Vania Zouravliov and Martin Ansin for the 2012 event.

Similarly to how it worked in 2011, Mondo won’t be revealing any information on when the posters will be released or title of the posters until their booth opens to the public. You can follow the company on Twitter at @MondoNews for their times and details.

What we do know though is that the posters will cost $50 each…a steal!

The release of this new artwork will hopefully make up for the fact that yet another star has revealed that they will not be attending the panel.

Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) looking pensive in Game Of Thrones

Fans of the show will know that the Game Of Thrones Comic Con appearance can be frustrating at times, since the show is deep in filming the new season at this time of year and with production schedules constantly in flux, someone always ends up missing the event.

We already knew that scheduling conflicts mean that Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) won’t be making the panel appearance and last night it was confirmed that Kit Harington (Jon Snow) won’t be there either as he is recuperating from a a recent ankle injury and won’t be able to make the journey to San Diego.

We hold out hope that Kit will be the last cancellation and if he is, the panel will consist of Rose Leslie (Jon Snow’s new love interest Ygritte), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Richard Madden (Robb Stark).

The panel will take place this Friday, July 13 in Hall H from 2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.
