New ITV sitcom Love and Marriage to star Gavin & Stacey’s Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman!
Fans of the sadly now defunct Gavin & Stacey will know that Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman played the roles of Gavin’s parents, Mick and Pam…
And those same fans will no doubt be pleased to hear that Larry and Alison have reunited in new ITV sitcom, Love and Marriage, which also stars Duncan Preston, Celia Imrie, Graeme Hawley – who played murderer John Stape in Corrie – and Ashley Jensen, who formerly starred in Ugly Betty.
Love and Marriage, which is currently being filmed on location in Coventry, follows the lives of the Paradise family as they struggle to cope with the consequences of mum Pauline – who’s played by Alison – walking out on them…
Former Dinner Ladies and Emmerdale star Duncan plays the role of her husband, ‘Silent Ken’. It hasn’t as yet been revealed which role former EastEnders star Larry – he of course played Archie Mitchell in ‘Enders – will be playing.
However, Steve November, the acting director of drama at ITV, said of the show, “Love And Marriage is a warm-hearted drama focusing on the highs and lows of family life.
“It features a stellar cast playing three generations of the Paradise family – all of whom have a fascinating story to tell.”
And Tiger Aspect executive producer Rebecca de Souza added, “Writer Stewart Harcourt has created the most delightful, funny show.
“It asks all the big questions about love and marriage.”
The first series of the show will feature six hour-long episodes that are expected to air later this year.
For now, here’s a reminder of the on-screen magic between Larry and Alison in Gavin & Stacey…
