Two new quiz shows have been announced today from rival channels ITV1 and Channel 4.
ITV1’s offering My Man Can sees Melanie Sykes and former TOWIE and I’m A Celeb hunk Mark Wright team up to present the show that will have women guess and the men impress as four feisty couples battle it out to win £50,000. The girls really need to know what their partners can and can’t do as they bid to put forward their guys for a series of tasks, but if their other halves fail, the cash goes to the other teams.
Host Mel says:
“My Man Can is a brilliant game because us girls always think we know what our blokes can do – but can they pull it out of the bag when it counts?”
Former TOWIE star Mark adds:
““Us fellas always try to impress our ladies but will we be able to come up with the goods when it really matters?”
We have a bit of a wait for My Man Can though as it’s not scheduled to air until next year.
A quiz show that’s going to be a bit quicker off the mark though is Channel 4’s new daytime quiz 1001 Things You Should Know.
Each episode will see three contestants go head-to-head to prove they know the things they should know in their chosen field of expertise…but if you don’t, you leave with nothing.
Recognisable Channel 4 faces will pose the questions the contestants should know about their area of expertise – from sport and television, to history and mathematics. If players get their question right, then they can access a cash question which will be asked by the host. There can be only one winner each day and each episodes winners will return in the following show as Champion.
1001 Things You Should Know is due to start on Channel 4 in the summer.
