Dumped Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan – who played Edie – has slated ABC, and the show’s creator Marc Cherry, saying that she believes the show is “losing its appeal”.

Nicollette played Edie Britt for five years but it seems that she felt she and her character were undervalued by Marc Cherry.

She told TV Guide, “When you have a jewel, why not polish it and put it out there for all to see?”

Modesty’s obviously not one of Nicollette’s strong points then, however, she added, “I think whoever Edie represented in Marc’s life was somebody he didn’t like…

“And he had a very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction.”

Marc Cherry however has adamantly denied that there was anything personal in his decision to drop Nicollette from the show and with regard to his plans for her replacement, he said, “We’ll find a new kind of sexiness coming through Wisteria Lane.

“What I won’t do is cast another forty-something sexy blonde.

“Nicollette Sheridan performed the aging neighbourhood tramp better than anyone has ever done before.”

Yikes… I’m not sure who’s being the biggest bitch in that row; Nicollette or Marc!
