ABC has confirmed that actress Nicollette Sheridan is leaving “Desperate Housewives.”

The 45-year-old Sheridan had her departure made public by TV Guide magazine.

A call to Sheridan’s publicist was not immediately returned.

No details of when the star will leave have been revealed, nor is it known how she will be written out.
