Nigella’s Christmas recipe for roast potatoes with semolina has caused sales of the pudding ingredient to sky rocket.

After Nigella revealed that she sprinkled semolina on potatoes before roasting them in goose fat, supermarkets have seen it flying off their shelves.

An Asda spokesman told The Mirror, “There was a further 65% increase in the immediate run-up to Christmas.

“The only explanation is that people are using it for Nigella’s roast potatoes.”

Sainsbury added that their sales were up by 35% too. A spokesman siad:

“Nigella’s very influential. It seems lots of people have been following her roast potato recipe.”
