No help for Matt Smith from old Doctor Who

Ex-Doctor Who actor, Tom Baker, has told the Daily Record that he has no intention of advising the new Doctor Who, actor Matt Smith, on how he should play the role.

Tom told the paper, “I don’t give advice to the young. I’ve often noticed that the young shudder at the sight of the old, so I keep silent.”

He added that he didn’t want to prejudice Matt’s putting his own stamp on the role by suggesting how it should be played.

Matt will appear on our screens at the latest incarnation of the Time Lord early next year. The show’s makers have “three specials” lined up to mark David Tennant’s last appearances and to introduce Matt.

Tom also told the paper, “David Tennant is a wonderful actor, a huge star.

“He’s young and handsome. I never saw him in that role, but then, I never saw myself as The Doctor either.”
