Odd Programmes of the Week

Tonight the absolutely brilliant show, ‘To Catch a Predator’ is on FX at 10pm. American TV presenter Chris Hansen, along with local police and a team of researchers, set up ‘sting’ operations to catch sex offenders. In collaboration with the watchdog group ‘Perverted Justice’, Chris lures potential – and often convicted – paedophiles who believe they are meeting an underage teen with whom they’ve been chatting online. Instead, they are confronted by Hansen, a camera team and a police squad. Epic telly.

Also on tonight is a show called ‘99 Most Bizarre’ on Sky Three at 9pm. Tonight’s show is called, ‘Sleepwalking Misadventures’ and presents a rundown of the most incomprehensible sleepwalking misadventures on record. These include the tale of a man who wandered into a lake of alligators, another who survived walking off a sixth-floor balcony, and a pianist who punched his way through a glass window. Plus, the man who was acquitted of murdering his father because he was asleep when he committed the crime. Awesome.

Then I spotted what might also be the most boring programme of the week, the ‘IHOP conference with Mike Bickle – Women in the Prophetic’ which is on tonight on the God Europe channel at 10.30pm. It says it is ‘Religious and spiritual teaching from the International House of Prayer.’ If you’re having trouble sleeping, give it a go; it’s like televisual valium.

Then on the Dating Channel tonight, there’s a whole evening dedicated to meeting Mr or Mrs Right… choose from Midlands Match, Southern Singles, Mixed Bag and Party Profiles, all are apparently accompanied by ‘live text message chat.’. I hate to imagine what ‘Mixed Bag’ entails, dating-wise.
