On todays Official Singles Chart Update on BBC Radio 1 it was revealed that Clean Bandit look set to lose their place at the top of the charts.
London based band Clean Bandit shot to the top of the charts three weeks ago with their single ‘Rather Be’ which features vocals from the incredible Jess Glynne but look set to fall one place thanks to Zedd and Hayley Williams’ ‘Stay The Night’.
According to sales data released by the Official Charts Company DJ and Producer Zedd and Hayley Williams of Paramore are currently Number (1) in the UK by just 5,500 copies at this midweek stage.
This puts Clean Bandit and ‘Rather Be’ featuring Jess Glynne into Number (2) despite already becoming the fastest selling single of 2014 so far after it sold an outstanding 163,000 copies in its first week alone.
Pharrell Williams is still in the Top 5 of the Official Singles Chart with ‘Happy’ at Number (3) meanwhile ‘Feelin’ Myself’ from Will.I.Am and featuring Miley Cyrus remains at Number (4).
Going into Sunday, on this midweek Official Singles Chart Update the Top 5 is completed by DJ Fresh and Jay Fays’ ‘Dibby Dibby Sound’ which features Ms Dynamite.
Going into this weekend according to the Official Charts Company there are five other new entries on the Official Singles Chart
Looking to claim his first single in the Top 10 this Sunday is Vine star Dapper Laughs who is new in at Number (8) with ‘Proper Moist’ which is one of his popular video catchphrases.
David Guetta returns to the Official Singles Chart Top 10 this week with ‘Shot Me Down’ featuring Skylar Grey which is at Number (10) while Le Youth enters at Number (10) with ‘Dance With Me’ featuring Dominique Young Unique.
‘Roll Of Honour’ from The Irish Brigade looks set to enter the Top 40 this week after it shot to Number (24) despite originally being released in the 1980s.
The single has shot into the charts on this Official Singles Chart Update following a football campaign in Scotland from Celtic fans.
The Scottish government are enforcing their Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012 and this has led to the track being featured in the campaign.
