Doctor Who Spoilers: Old timelords including William Hartnell and Jon Pertwee make an appearance in Doctor Who’s Nightmare In Silver!

Doctor Who - Nightmare In Silver

Doctor Who fans are set for a pretty amazing surprise on next week’s episode of Doctor Who, as there will be some very familiar faces popping up in the latest instalment.

Doctor Who – Nightmare In Silver is set to air on BBC One on Saturday 11th May and once again the Doctor’s arch enemies The Cybermen will be wreaking havoc around the universe.

The titular timelord (Matt Smith) will be captured by his foes, and they will dig into his mind and all of his many previous regenerations. It’s been reported that former actors who held the role over the years, including late stars William Hartnell and Jon Pertwee, will flash up on a screen.

The episode synopsis for ‘Nightmare In Silver’ states:

“Hedgewick’s World of Wonders was once the greatest theme park in the galaxy, but it’s now the dilapidated home to a shabby showman, a chess-playing dwarf and a dysfunctional army platoon.”

The Doctor, Artie, Angie and of course Clara arrive to investigate, only to shockingly discover that The Cybermen are back and following through with more plans of evil world domination once again.

The episode was written by Neil Gaiman and directed by Stephen Woolfenden and it’s been reported that show boss Steven Moffat asked Gaiman to make the Cybermen “scary again”. Neil explained that he thought back to classic series serials The Moonbase and The Tomb of the Cybermen (1967) and decided to “take the 1960s Cybermen and [incorporate] everything that’s happened since”.

This episode is a shambles. Neil Gaiman can’t write for toffeee. These Cyber men look like jumped up LEgo Power Ranger spawn and can not handle themselves. I remember Adric dying and the cubermen i that were so much scarier, especially when they broke free in the chamber and when they got froze in cement in the door before Adric put the ship down on Earth, killing the disnosaurs. FFS Moffat, grow up and star meking WHO good again.

The sentence “Neil Gaiman can’t write for toffeee” is unintentionally hilarious! 🙂

Really looking forward to seeing Moffat “star meking WHO good again”.

If we’re going back to “Classic” Cybermen I’m hoping that their allergy to gold is back too.

To the guy who said “Neil Gaiman can’t write for toffee” Didn’t you forget the Neil wrote ‘The Doctor’s Wife’ which received positive reviews and won 2 awards and is also one of my top 10 Doctor Who episodes. So don’t judge him for writing an episode we haven’t seen yet
