2013 is almost over, we’ve still got a few weeks to go but for many musicians the time to look ahead to 2014 has already begun well in advance.

For Olly Murs we already know he’s got plans for a new album in the summer of 2014 and hopefully with that another tour to promote it.

Since his days on the X Factor Olly Murs has released three studio albums to date.

His self-titled album was released in 2010, ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ was released in 2011 and ‘Right Place Right Time’ in 2012.

Olly Murs also re-released ‘Right Place Right Time’ which included his new single ‘Hand on Heart’.

Murs confirmed his next album while speaking to Digital Spy at the Royal Variety Performance which aired last night (9th December) and confessed that he hopes it will be released by the summer:

“I’ve got another busy year. I’m writing the new album next year and I’ll be releasing that next summer.”

Olly also spoke with at Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball and admitted that his main goal as an artist and perform is to push himself to ‘do better’. He said:

“I’m going to do a bit in America, but nothing too drastic. It will be the same guys I’ve worked with on the last three albums. As an artist I am progressing, although the songwriters and the producers I’m working with are the same.”

“We’ve got to be clever on this next record and come up with something even better. I’ve had some really big hits, but I want an even bigger hit. I want to win Brits, I want to do better and I want my albums to be stronger. You always want to beat yourself.”
