X Factor alumni Olly Murs has this morning debuted a new song entitled ‘Never Been Better’ that is lifted from his forthcoming album of the same name which is due out on the 24th of November.
Sharing a video of the track this morning onto YouTube, Olly is shown performing the track live – with a backing band – and Olly has also spoken recently about his on-stage alter-ego.
‘Never Been Better’ is Olly’s fourth studio album, and the follow-up to his 2012 release, ‘Right Place Right Time’.
That album featured a number of his hit tracks, including ‘Army of Two’, ‘Troublemaker’ and his smash hit ‘Dear Darlin” and we imagine his new release will prove to be full of hits too!
In a new interview with The Telegraph, Olly has opened up about his on-stage character – known as ‘Frank’ – who he morphs into when performing live.
Murs explained: “When I perform I think I can come across as arrogant, but I can be quite shy off stage. Beyoncé and some other artists say that you have to have an alter-ego on stage.
The ‘Troublemaker’ star continued: “I’d call mine Frank because one of my favourite artists of all time is Sinatra.”
The singer also spoke about comparisons between himself and late actor James Dean, mentioning his appearance on Deal or No Deal back in 2007.
He said: “I went on Deal or No Deal in 2007 after my mum applied on my behalf, and a woman on the show told me I looked like James Dean.
“There was one photo she found where there were a few similarities, but I wish I did look like him. He was one of the coolest guys ever.”
Murs added that he was always a fan of the shoots he did back in the 1950s, and has always found him to be an inspiration for his own shoots over the past few years.
