We all love music right? There’s so much to choose from nowadays from your One Direction to Lorde, Robin Thicke to Lady Gaga, the possibilities are endless.
Most artists have their own styles and tend to stick to that but it’s always a treat finding someone who can cover some of the biggest songs and adapt them to a completely different genre and in our endless Youtube surfing, we’ve come across some crackers this week!
It’s not everyday you stumble onto something as unique as Postmodern Jukebox but we’ve found them and we just can’t get enough of what they’ve done to some of the biggest songs from the past few years. They literally take some of the tunes back several decades.
Surprisingly it works and we’ve picked a selection of some of our favourite videos that we think you’ll enjoy and we encourage you to check them out on Facebook.
‘Royals’ – (Featuring the “Sad Clown With The Golden Voice” ) – Lorde Cover
‘Blurred Lines’ – Vintage “Bluegrass Barn Dance” – Robin Thicke Cover
‘Timber’ – 1950’s / Doo Wop – Pitbull & Ke$ha Cover
‘Story of My Life’ – Miche Braden covers One Direction – New Orleans Style
‘Just (Tap) Dance’ – 1940’s Jazz – Lady Gaga Cover
‘We Can’t Stop’ – 1950’s Vintage Doo Wop Miley Cyrus Cover
What do you think? It’s crazy how different some songs can sound when played by a different band as if they were from a completely different period…. We think they’re incredibly talented and since their covers are available to purchase on iTunes, you should definitely have a few on your music device!
