Tonight’s edition of the Antiques Roadshow has footage of the first ever object to be valued by the show’s experts at £1 million. Exactly what the item is is being kept a closely guarded secret until the show airs at 7.15pm on BBC1.
According to the BBC, fine art expert Philip Mould made the find and broke the news to the owner during recording of the show at The Sage in Gateshead. Although the owner knew it was valuable, they were still left shocked apparently.
Things are in a bit of a panic this week on Albert Square and on Monday, Archie calls an ambulance for Roxy who’s gone into labour and is screaming for Sean while Peggy goes in search of Ronnie. When the ambulance arrives, Roxy refuses to go without Sean but Archie tells her that she has to go to the hospital for the sake of the baby and promises he’ll find Sean for her.
As they enter the delivery room, Ronnie comforts Roxy but also vents her anger at Sean for letting her down and when the midwife asks everyone to leave the room, Archie tells Ronnie to stay. As Roxy pushes, her fears for her baby’s health mount when the midwife tells her that they’ll need a paediatrician as soon as possible.
On Monday’s first trip down to the Street, Becky’s busy preparing for Hayley’s return and despite Roy’s protests that he doesn’t want a big fuss, she’s made a banner and even arranged some flowers for him to take to the airport. However, the day doesn’t turn out quite as planned when Roy comes back from the airport alone; Hayley wasn’t on the flight.
David’s worried about retaliation from the Windass family but he and Graeme decide to hide their concerns from Tina. However, when Joe’s roughed up by Gary and Len and has his tools stolen, they realise they can’t keep the secret for much longer. When Joe reveals to Gail that he isn’t insured, the enormity of what he’s started hits home to David.
Its a busy week in Emmerdale village this week and things start off tensely on Monday, as Anna’s on edge while she waits for Matthew’s return however, he’s picked up from the airport by a De Souza driver and soon finds himself confronted by Donald.
Donald tells Matthew that every relationship he’s had has ended in failure and says he just wants to protect Anna. Matthew refuses to listen so Donald offers to spare the Kings from financial ruin if Matthew, in return, ends his relationship with Anna.
Matthew won’t be swayed but he’s now not sure he’s made the right decision when Anna later confesses to him that she’s been feeding her father information about the Kings. She tells him she stopped as soon as she realised that she had fallen in love with him.
Carol Vorderman yesterday filmed her final appearance on the show in which she’s starred for 26 years.
She couldn’t hold back the tears as she filmed the last of more than 4,750 episodes of the Channel 4 show.
She choked back her emotions and told the Daily Mirrior, “I know that not having Countdown will leave a massive hole in my life and that is so sad.”
Carol, 47, quit after a row over her pay in which Countdown bosses told her she must accept a 90% cut in her reported £1.2 million-a-year contract.
In a special compilation of clips to mark her career with Coundown, Carol was “reunited” with late host Richard Whiteley as clips of the two were played.
Gossip Girl heart throb Chace Crawford is clearly a hit with the ladies. The handsome US actor, who is interviewed on T4 this Sunday, is not a man who is short of admirers –wherever he goes.
An insider on set revealed, “Chace is a lovely guy and is really sweet. He was polite and steered away from questions about him being a heart throb.” However when he stood up to leave the set a note dropped out of his pocket with a number written on it and a kiss. “Someone clearly had the guts to come up and ask him and whoever it was, he evidently kept hold of it.” Until it fell out, that is….
