TV chatshow host, Paul O’Grady has been the victim of a snake bite in his home based in Kent.

O’Grady met with the adder after it slithered out of a pile of firewood, though at first he did not realise that he had been bitten.

He told the Mirror: “I didn’t realise I was bitten at first but I looked at my right arm and there was blood gushing down from it.

“I saw two puncture marks and I realised I had been bitten and it must have been a snake.

“It really started to hurt and then I saw a snake on the logs. think it had crawled from inside the hollow of the log.

“I’ve come up against few snakes in my time but normally of the two-legged variety,” joked the performer.

Paul phoned his local hospital who told him to monitor the swelling on his arm and come straight to A&E if his condition deteriorated.
