Pharrell returns to the top of the Official Singles Chart one week after being knocked off

Pharrell has done it once again, he’s returned to the top of the Official Singles Chart once again with his latest single ‘Happy’. 

The Official Charts Company reported in the midweek chart update that Pharrell was set to return to the top ending the one week reign by Pitbull and Ke$ha and that’s just what he’s done.

It was only last Sunday that Pharrell was knocked off the top by ‘Timber’ by Pitbull featuring Ke$ha (2) but Pharrell has been keeping everyone ‘Happy’ after selling 107,000 copies this week alone.

2013 for Pharrell was an incredible year after he scored two of the biggest selling singles of the year and it seems like 2014 is going to be just as fantastic.


Avicii spends another week at Number (3) on the Official Singles Chart with ‘Hey Brother’ which is the Swedish DJs sixth Top 10 hit.

‘Trumpets’ by Jason Derulo spends another week at Number (4) this week according to the Official Charts Company while Fuse ODG moves nine places into Number (5) with ‘Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad)’

Climbing eleven places on this weeks Official Singles Chart are British duo Matrix & Futurebound who are at Number (7) with their highest ever charting single ‘Control’ featuring Marshall.

Taking a look at new entries and high climbers on this weeks Official Singles Chart we can see that Hardwell has scored his first ever single in the UK Top 40 this week.

The Dutch DJs ‘Dare You’ featuring vocalist Matthew Koma is new this week Number (18).

Beyoncé has climbed a staggering 17 places this week with ‘Drunk In Love’ featuring her husband Jay Z which is at Number (10) and gives the superstar her 16th Top 10 hit.

‘Turn Back Time’ by Sub Focus shoots up 30 places at to land at Number (15) according to the Official Charts Company while American rockers Awolnation move up 14 places to Number (17) with ‘Sail’.

Kid Ink is also climbing back up the Official Singles Chart after ‘Show Me’ featuring Chris Brown climbed 28 places to be at Number (32).

Finally, leaping 50 places to Number (35) is Vance Joy with ‘Riptide’ while rapper Busta Rhymes has climbed 61 places on the Official Singles Chart into Number (37) with ‘Thank You’.
