Pharrell set to return to the top of the Official Singles Chart with ‘Happy’

Pharrell could be ‘Happy’ once again this Sunday as his single looks set to return to the top of the Official Singles Chart knocking Pitbull and Ke$ha off the top after just one week.

This isn’t the first time Pharrell was number one with ‘Happy’ however as it was Pitbull and Ke$ha who knocked him off the top spot last weekend.

According to information released by the Official Charts Company at this midweek stage Pharrell is set to regain his spot at the top of the charts.

The gap between Pharrell and Pitbull/Ke$ha on the Official Singles Chart is incredibly close, in fact there are only 1,000 copies between ‘Happy’ (1) and ‘Timber’ (2).

‘Hey Brother’ by Swedish DJ Avicii remains at Number (3) while ‘Trumpets’ by Jason Derulo is at Number (4).

Completing the Top 5 at this midweek Official Singles Chart update is Fuse ODG who has climbed nine places with ‘Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad)’ which is at Number (5).

According to the Official Charts Company on this weeks Official Singles Chart update there are three new entries going into the weekend.

Lady Gaga has teamed up with Christina Aguilera (seen below) on a re-recording of ‘Do What U Want’ which originally featured vocals from R Kelly is at Number (9) today.

The duet which now features Christina Aguilera premiered during the live final of ‘The Voice USA’ at the end of last month.

Looking to score his first Top 40 hit on the Official Singles Chart is Dutch DJ Hardwell with ‘Dare You’ which features vocals from US singer-songwriter Matthew Koma which is at Number (23). 

Star of ‘Glee’ and Broadway Idina Menzel (pictured below) is set to debut on the Official Singles Chart Top 40 this weekend with ‘Let It Go’ which features on the hit Disney movie ‘Frozen’ moves up seven places to Number (37).

Finally taking a look at high climbers at this midweek stage we can see that ‘Turn Back Time’ by Sub Focus has climbed 15 places to Number (30).

Breach is at Number (33) – up nine places with ‘Everything You Never Had (We Had It All) featuring Andreya Triana.

Last by no means least on the Official Singles Chart update is Kid Ink’s ‘Show Me’ featuring Chris Brown which shoots up 25 places to Number (35).
