Piers Morgan Life Stories: Cilla Black cries for the baby she lost

Cilla Black will appear on this week’s Piers Morgan’s Life Stories on BBC One and during the interview the TV presenter breaks down when talking about the death of her daughter.
Cilla reveals that baby Ellen was born prematurely at only 27 weeks in 1975, but passed away two hours later.
Cilla wept: “It was awful. I could hear in the next room two women talking about their babies and I had none.”
Cilla, already had two sons, Robert and Benjamin, before Ellen was born, she admitted: “You blame yourself and think, ‘Maybe if I didn’t work, maybe if I rested’.”
“But I worked through my other pregnancies, so why should this be different? I said to Bobby, ‘Why me?’ He was very tough with me, he said, ‘Well, why not you?’”
She said of Ellen: “I think she would have been married now, because girls tend to get married before boys.
“But now I have two grandchildren and they are the greatest joy to me.”
