Pixie Lott is making her comeback to the music scene with her self titled album and is set to debut her brand new single ‘Nasty’ on ‘The Brits Are Coming’ later tonight on ITV.
‘The Brits Are Coming’ will be hosted by Nick Grimshaw and lead into the Brit Awards 2014 by telling the world who has been nominated in which category.
The singer has spoken in an interview and has revealed that she is ready to make her comeback to the charts and admitted she had a bit of help with writing.
The 23-year old is dating Oliver Cheshire and admitted that he made things easier in terms of writing and recorded music for her third studio album.
Speaking with the Metro the singer said: “It’s my first time writing from the actual experience of being in a relationship. It has really helped,”
“I can relate to every aspect of what I’m singing – the good times and the bad times. I love writing about things that I experience. It makes songs greater,”
Pixie Lott also spoke about boyfriend Oliver Cheshire and admitted that in the relationship, she’s really the only one who can sing despite her other half trying.
“Oliver can’t sing! He tries. He thinks he is a bit of a DJ and he loves music, but he’s not really a singer. We’ve never even done karaoke. Will he be stealing my thunder? No!’ [she laughed].”
Speaking about her performance on ‘The Brits are Coming’ later tonight on ITV (9th January) Pixie spoke about her new single and said: “It’s a funky, soulful track that is very up-tempo and fresh,”
She continued:”A few other singers had recorded it and Christina was one of them so everyone wanted this song. When I heard other singers had done it I thought “I need to get this!””
“It was a difficult song to get because there are so many old-school samples on it, like James Brown, that are hard to clear copyright on. But I got it and now it is my new single.”
The Brits are Coming will air later tonight on ITV 1 at 10.35pm and will also see performances from Rudimental, Tinie Tempah and Sam Smith.
