You can’t beat a good old horror film, and this is both old and a horror film, but it’s a good ‘un!

On top of that, he learns his Mother’s dying of cancer so Fool is persuaded by family friend Leroy to sneak into the landlord’s home to steal a prized coin collection that’s rumored to be in their home.

Saturday

The Lost Boys, 9:00pm, Living

This is a brilliant film, and even if you’ve seen it before, it’s well worth watching again! Financial troubles force a recent divorcee and her teenage sons Mike and Sam to settle down with her father in the California town of Santa Carla.

At first, Sam laughs off rumours he hears about vampires who inhabit the small town. But after Mike meets a beautiful girl at the local amusement park, he begins to exhibit the classic signs of vampirism. Fearing for his own safety, Sam recruits two young vampire hunters to save his brother by finding and destroying the head vampire.

The music in it’s awesome too! Here’s the film’s trailer…

The Hills Have Eyes, 10:45pm, Film4

Again, this is an excellent film and really, really gruesome!

While traveling in a trailer to California through the New Mexico Desert, a family is misled into taking a shortcut by the owner of an isolated gas station. Where they end up – with a broken down car – is the middle of nowhere and a very scary place, as they’re about to find out when they’re attacked by a group of deformed cannibals who are the resulting children affected by the nuclear tests conducted by USA from 1945 to 1962 in that spot. Absolutely trapped by the psychotics, they have to fight to survive.

Seriously, don’t watch it alone! Here’s the trailer…

Sunday

Here’s the film’s trailer…

The Amityville Horror, 10:05pm, ITV4

Like the Lost Boys, this is a classic horror film and again, in my opinion one of the best horror films ever made.

Based on a supposedly true story, The Amityville Horror is about a large house on the coast of Long Island into which newlyweds George and Kathy Lutz and their three children move.

Despite full disclosure of the house’s history by the real estate agent, George and Kathy buy the house. George says, “Houses don’t have memories,” but they’re soon to find out that this house had more than memories…

They turn to priest Father Delaney who performs an exorcism on the house but the evil spirit there causes him to become blind and desperately ill. George and Kathy enlist the help of another priest, Father Bolen, and a police detective as they face the full horrors the house has to disclose… Epic film! Here’s the trailer…

That’s it for our Primetime Picks this week. Have a great Bank Holiday weekend and we’ll see you here again next week!
