Prince Charles moonlights as a weatherman for the BBC! (VIDEO)
Now, I tried to think of a witty play on words for the title of this article, such as Prince predicts fresh heir, or Prince says it’s going to reign, however, they were so lame I gave up on them…
But the gist of the story is that yesterday, during a visit to the BBC’s studios in Scotland, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall tried their hand at being meteorologists in order to present a special version of the weather report.
After reading the BBC Scotland news, presenter Sally Magnusson handed over to the Prince who read the weather report from a “specially-scripted forecast” that predicted what the weather’s like over the Royal residences.
During his commentary, the Prince said, “The best of the bright and dry weather will of course be in the northern isles and the far north of the mainland…
“So, a little hazy sunshine for the Castle of Mey in Caithness but a cold day everywhere with temperatures of just 8°C and a brisk northerly wind.
“Thank God it isn’t a Bank Holiday.”
And of course, the Prince is becoming quite an old hand at being on TV, since in December of 2008, he had a cameo role in Corrie when he visited Vera Duckworth in hospital.
The episode aired live for the show’s 40th anniversary, and HRH took it all in his king sized stride. And of course, Camilla’s also no stranger to the Street.
Here’s a reminder of their appearances on the famous cobbles…
And finally, here’s the Prince presenting Scotland’s weather yesterday…
