We can’t quite believe it ourselves but legendary musician Prince has finally confirmed plans to perform a series of shows next month “in and around London” weeks after speculation that a tour was coming.
From February 3rd the musician will perform in a number of “iconic venues” but a list of tour dates as of yet, have not been released.
It was only a few weeks ago that the internet was a buzz at the thought of Prince embarking on a tour once again but then things went quiet.
Then we found out that the musician would make a cameo appearance in hit US comedy ‘New Girl’ as part of their Super Bowl special.
While details of these shows are still under wraps it’s been announced that Prince will hold a press conference in the flat belonging to singer Lianne La Havas.
The series of shows will be part of his ‘Hit and Run’ tour and will come in support of his latest album ‘PlectrumElectrum’ which was recorded with his girl group 3rdEyeGirl.
A press release was released earlier which states:
“To celebrate the release of ‘PLECTRUMELECTRUM’, the highly anticipated debut album from 3RDEYEGIRL, his all-female rock trio, Prince is planning to play iconic venues in and around London starting Feb 3rd.
“The first stop is the living room of London’s own – Lianne La Havas. This 24-year-old singer-songwriter met Prince last year during LaHavas’ tour of America.”
“They jammed together at Prince’s Paisley Park Studio in Minneapolis and have kept in touch ever since. When Prince told Lianne he was coming to London to launch his new project, Ms. La Havas jokingly offered her flat as the location for the press conference.”
It finishes: “Details about the event are very hush-hush at this time but as we find out more, you will be the 2nd ones to know. For now, know this: Prince is coming!”
