Prison Break, Sky One This Autumn

Prison Break, the critically acclaimed international TV sensation is coming exclusively to Sky One this Autumn. Originally launched in 2005, this edge of the seat drama became an instant, global success, captivating audiences with its thrilling plot twists. The brand new third series will hit Sky One screens on 24th September at 10pm, showing for the first time in the UK in glorious high definition.

Prison Break follows the story of Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), a man sentenced to death and incarcerated at Fox River Penitentiary for the supposed murder of Terence Steadman, the brother of the then Vice President of the United States. Lincoln was left to face certain execution until his brother, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) - a brilliant structural engineer convinced of Lincoln’s innocence - hatched an elaborate escape plan after installing himself as an inmate at Fox River and covering his upper body in an intricate tattoo of the prison’s blueprints.

Joining Michael in Sona are old ‘friends’ Bellick, sadistic killer Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell (Robert Knapper), and the devastated Mahone - all inside for crimes they did not commit and forced to make unlikely alliances if they are to survive. Outside it is left to Lincoln and Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) to find a way to get Michael out, one way or another. Lincoln must also try to find Sara who has mysteriously disappeared, while Sucre has to track down his kidnapped pregnant fiancé Maricruz.

New cast members confirmed for Season 3 include Robert Wisdom (The Wire) as Lachero, the Sona Kingpin; Chris Vance (All Saints, The Secret Life of Us) as an inmate called ‘Whistler’; Danay Garcia (CSI Miami) as Whistler’s Panamanian girlfriend; and Jodi Lynn O’Keefe (The Evidence, Boston Legal) as Betty Crocker, a mysterious woman Lincoln meets in his search for Sara.

Creator Paul Schering commented that that the overall themes of Prison Break Season 3 will be ‘redemption’ and ‘revenge’, saying: “It’s going to return to the fundamental conceit, to the roots of what the show was about. They got scattered to the winds - their stories became separate and defused. They will come back together. Their conflicts and interactions will return.”

Prison Break Season 3 will air exclusively on Sky One and Sky One HD from week commencing Monday 24th September at 10pm.

Sky One will air the first half of Prison Break Season 3 before a short hiatus. The remaining episodes will be broadcast from March 2008, giving UK viewers the opportunity to catch up with the action just days after its US broadcast.
