ITV recently came under fire for cutting short the current series of US comedy drama, Pushing Daisies, by one episode.
Although the channel argued that the episode was not essential to the progression of the series, many fans were furious that they would miss an episode due to the timing of a football match.
We suggested that ITV screen the episode on their website, so that ardent fans could view the series in its entirety, as the producers intended. It seems as though ITV have listened, and they have announced that the episode will be available from this Saturday, for one week only.
This “was in response to fans wanting to see this episode”, a spokesman said.
“It’s done particularly well with younger audiences and showing it online seemed to make sense,” he said, adding that the streaming of previous episodes online had also “done well”.
