Victorian Passions is a season of four films which reappraises and contradicts the traditional view of Victorian society as prudish and straight laced. Queen Victoria’s image today is that of a regal figure, but also a dowdy one, buttoned-up and forbidding. But the real Victoria was very different. This docu-drama examines her relationships with five men who played a major role in her life: Prince Albert, who dominated her life during 21 years of marriage and the 40 years that followed his death; two Prime Ministers and two servants.
