Ravenswood: New creepy teaser trailer unveiled

by Nick Barnes

ABC Family has today unveiled a brand new creepy teaser trailer for the forthcoming series of Ravenswood.

Ravenswood is the spin-off to Pretty Little Liars and will launch on the network later this fall.

The teaser, which spans 16 seconds, gives the sense that the show will be much darker, creepier and more eerie than Pretty Little Liars.

The text in the video states “The darkness comes to life”.

The whole video is centered around the creepy town of Ravenswood and it also looks like some sort of memorial is taking place. A raven is seen lying dead in the road and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) looks solemn.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Australian actor Steven Cabral has been cast in the forthcoming first season of Ravenswood.

Cabral will play Raymond Collins who is a “handsome but guarded member of the Miranda Collins’ clan”.

Elsewhere, it was revealed a number of weeks back that Nicole Gale Anderson will play the role of Miranda on the show. Miranda is a foster kid who relies on her wits to cover emotional scars, according to the official character description.

Also, former Kyle XY and Supernatural star Merritt Patterson has been cast as a series regular in the role of Tess. Tess is Olivia’s former best friend who is not involved with the curse.

Olivia is the twin sister of Abel – Olivia will be played by Elizabeth Whitson and Abel will be played by Brett Dier.

Abel has been described as a “lone wolf with an old soul whose trust is hard-won, but who is loyal to the end”. There is something dangerous lurking inside of him, however, once he trusts you, he will never let you down.  Olivia on the other hand is more of a “happy spirit who has recently experienced hardship” which leaves her “questioning what’s important”. She is a former quirky prom queen who experienced a hefty fall from grace and she’s just beginning to learn who her real friends are.

The official synopsis for the show reads: “Ravenswood will center on a town, not far from Rosewood, PA, which has suffered under a deadly curse for generations. Five strangers suddenly find themselves connected by this fatal curse and need to dig into the town’s mysterious and terrible history before it’s too late for each of them”.

Ravenswood kicks off this October on ABC Family.
