Back in September it was revealed that ‘Sons of Anarchy’ star Charlie Hunnam would be taking on the role of Christian Grey in the movie adaption of EL James’ ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ book.
Earlier this month however it was announced that Hunnam would be stepping down from the role of Christian Grey and a replacement would soon be found if production were to begin on time.
Now we know a replacement has been found.
Several names were circulating the internet as to who would replace Hunnam including Alexander Skarsgard, Garrett Hedlund, Matt Bomer, Alex Pettyfer and Ian Somerhalder.
One name we haven’t mentioned though is the man who has been announced as the actor to take on the leading role of Christian Grey in the movie adaption.
That’s right Irish actor Jamie Dornan (above) will be replacing Charlie Hunnam.
Jamie Dornan, 31, as we said is an Irish actor and is a former model for Calvin Klein with many other acting roles behind him including TV series ‘The Fall’ and ‘Marie Antoinette’ by Sofia Coppola.
Dakota Johnson at the time of writing is still set to remain as Anastasia Steele in the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie adaption opposite Jamie Dornan which is due to be released next year.
Reports had stated that Charlie Hunnam stepped down from his role in the movie because of other acting commitments elsewhere but also he was concerned over the media coverage he had received.
Following the announcement made in September many were not amused that Hunnam would be taking on such a role. Some even went as far to create online petitions to remove him.
However we do believe that this was all down to Hunnam and we have no reason to speculate that those petitions actually worked.
‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ was written by EL James and since going on sale has sold more than 70 million copies worldwide and has become the fastest selling book of all time.
Despite not reading it myself (obviously) I have ears so I’m wondering how they will adapt the book for the big screen? Only time will tell…
