Ricky Gervais reprising The Office’s David Brent for Comic Relief
Ricky Gervais is to bring back David Brent, his popular character from The Office, for Comic Relief.
The funnyman has agreed to reprise the role for the charity event in a special edition of the programme called The Office Revisited which will be broadcast on Red Nose Day on March 15.
David will be seen in his new job as a talent manager who is attempting to launch the music career of urban artist Dom Johnson.
However, having failed to succeed so far, he is also seen working as a door-to-door salesman selling cleaning products in a bid to subsidise the work.
Ricky told The Sun: “I thought it was time to revisit my most famous comedy creation to find out what he’s been up to for the last decade – and, most importantly, what he’s up to now.
“He is passing on his wisdom to younger would-be rock stars now. Well, really he is trying to worm his way back into rock and roll.
“Fans of The Office will be excited to know we finally get to hear the whole of The Serpent Who Guards the Gates of Hell and an amazing Brent self-funded video Equality Street. Horrendous.”
