Could Adele return to record the theme song or will Rihanna follow in her footsteps?

Recently we’ve heard a couple of names going about who could possibly record the theme for the next James Bond movie which is scheduled to be released next year.

British singer Sam Smith and American beauty Lana Del Rey have been mentioned over the past few months but Sam insisted he knew nothing about the claims.

Most recently ‘Diamond’ songstress Rihanna has been linked to the project, as it’s said she could make an appearance but it might more than just an acting role.

Speaking with Hollywood Life a source explained that bosses also want her to record the theme song: “and the role would just be an added bonus”

The source added that discussions have taken place for her to be a Bond Girl: “But she will not be the most focused Bond Girl if she gets the part. It will be more of a glorified cameo,”

This wouldn’t be the first time Rihanna has landed herself an acting role after she appeared in the 2012 movie ‘Battleship’ and also played herself in comedy ‘This Is The End’.

If Rihanna does record the theme song for the next movie in the James Bond series then she’ll follow in the footsteps of Adele who recorded ‘Skyfall’ – for the last movie.

It has been mentioned that Adele could record a song again but nothing has been confirmed as yet.

The next James Bond movie is set to begin filming in the next few months with Daniel Craig at the helm as 007 himself.

Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris are set to also appear with the film set to be officially released in November 2015.

What do you think? Could you see Rihanna being the voice of the new James Bond movie through the theme song and what about a cameo appearance? Would you welcome it or would the theme be enough?
