Robert Pattinson has admitted that he behaved badly when filming for the Harry Potter films.

Pattinson played Cedric Diggory in two of the movies and explained that he cut himself off from most of the crew because he thought he was older and better than them.

“I was a real prat for the first month,” he said in Robert Pattinson: The Unauthorised Biography. “I didn’t talk to anyone. I just drank coffee and told everyone I was 24 and this famous theatrical actor just back from South Africa.”

He continued: “I kind of blew it after the Potter films. There was a chance for me to really kick on and use the exposure, but I didn’t really want to do anything.”

However, the Twilight star added that in some ways his decision not to take up more work had been a “good thing”.

“I was able to teach myself how to act, for a start,” he said. “I could have done some more teen movies, but I thought what was the point? I’m not all that fussed by making loads of money.”
