Ok i don’t really want to talk about the show bcs i/we could be here all year. At the end of the day Bze like everywhere has problems and alot of what Ross said was true but in alot of areas was well over exaggerated. Remeber he not only did Beautiful Belize but a many other cities around the world including the wars in the Middle East and cities in his own country.
I would not worry about it affecting the tourism bcs i don’t think it affected Jamaica and we all know how JA stand.. recently murder capital of the world.
What Belize needs to do is invest in advertising. It appears it only looks to America but if Belize is to bring in serious tourism it needs to look to Europe. Millions of Europeans travel to the Caribbean every year but not Belize bcs it is unheard of. They need to start bringin in direct flights bcs the only way for Europeans to get to Belize in flyin to USA and wasting alot of money in stayin overnight and for many Europeans they have to gets VISA’s for the States, we Belizeans all know how difficult that is… people don’t wanna have to f*** with that. Hotels in Belize need to bring down their ridiculous prices too, they seriously overcharge.

I watched the programme and first thoughts were it was interesting and a well put tgether documentary.I have watched many of his programes and quite like them although this one concerning Belize has left considerable doubt in my mind.Firstly i cant believe that someone who was meant to be so involved in the gang culture as the guy Jason i think it was,was so willing to talk as he did in front of the camera’s.I also doubt that he would be so willing to talk about calling in hits on people as he was.Then he talked about the safe house that his family were holed up in,cum on he told the camera’s the neighbourhood it was in and claimed he couldnt walk the streets.Im sure it would’nt be too hard to find him considering he stands on his street corner every night!!!!! Cum on Ross you can do better than this.How hard did your researchers really work and how cum if it is so dangerous, people were so willing to talk and be approached??? I bet you that the real gangs and cartels would’nt let you near them and would probably make things very awkward for your researchers when they were snooping around for info!!! I am away travelling in 3keeks time and have toyed with the idea of visiting central america for a while.All this programme has done is make me decide that this area is beautiful and worth a visit to find out what the real Belize is like for myself.

like 10 year old naila garbutt say, Rass Kemp if u quote figures, get your facts straight!!! since belize is soooo bad how come u and your crew left here safely? The way u got your story was by bribery and fabrication. No one reads your books anyways.

We have a mess in our Belize-land, A small mess it is relegated to certain areas of one city in this beautiful jewel of ours…but one dead Belizean is too many dead Belizean …combine LA trained urban terrorist (illegally deported by the US government to ill-prepared Belize), with criminals in high places (Musa et al) and we have a concoction call Beli-crime. Criminals in high places create criminals in low places by default (or design)… poverty is the first crime. Criminals in high places (Musa et al) rape and pillage the wealth and resources of our jewel, destroy the national self-esteem of our good people…yet the storyline is about hand grenades in frustrated hands…We will overcome and pacify the anger of the deportees and frustrated youths…we will overcome and nullify the greed of the ruling class-because we are Belizeans…In Garifuna speak…”let those who can-do it, let those who can’t learn to do it” we will find solutions…BTW, Mr. Prime Minister Keep your machine gun carrying police out of Dangriga this 19th of November…thanks but we don’t need them…deploy them to the border –Gabafu G, Grigalizean

Get your facts right. I am only a ten year old Belizean but I am smart enough to know that you are dead wrong. Belize is not as you made it seem. Your article is not fair to Belize. The sixth most likely place to die from a gun shot wound?? Is this excluding the Middle East??

Forget the pros & cons of Ross’s documentary.Crime is indeed a major problem in Belize (especially in the old capital).

The law abiding citizens have allowed both past and current government administrations to ignore CRIME AS A PROBLEM by not making CRIME an important agenda during political campaigns. The current scenario of crimes is a direct result of the way it was ignored. It is still not too late for Belize.

The youths of Belize represent exactly what our country will be in the next decade or two. Unless government, church leaders and good Belizean citizens get involved by investing in education,employment,the dangers of using/selling drugs and the importance of the family as an institution,the scenario will only worsen.

I realize Ross’s documentary is not complimentary or good P/R for the country, but use it in a positive way,as a “wake up call”.
Belizeans, it is time you make your elected officials RESPONSIBLE and ACCOUNTABLE.Stop using AMERICA as a role model.
