The second film in the Victorian Passions season follows actor Rupert Everett as he takes a revealing and witty journey retracing the steps of one of his great heroes: the infamous Victorian explorer and sexual adventurer Sir Richard Burton.
Both writers, sexual explorers and masters of disguise, Everett discovers that he and Burton share much in common. From Bombay’s brothels to the dancing girls of Egypt, Everett embarks on a voyage of discovery into the exotic worlds that his hero explored. Everett evokes the life a man who was decades ahead of his time and a pioneer of ours.
