Russell Brand is feeling to America to try and avoid the fallout of his phone pranks scandal in the UK.

The Sun has reported that Brand wanted to fly to the States immediately but was held up by filming commitments for his Channel 4 show, Ponderland.

A source said: “He just wants to get on the next plane out of England – and get away from this mess.

“Russell rushed along the filming so he could get to LA as soon as possible.”

After the BBC received more than 30,000 complaints about Brand and Jonathan Ross bombarding Andrew Sachs with lewd voicemail messages, Russell resigned from his radio show and Ross got suspended for three months.
