Russell Brand has seemingly cracked America as it is announced that he has landed a £1 million gig presenting the MTV Awards.

Russell came to the attention of Hollywood in his recent movie ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’, so much so that he has already landed a role in the sequel. He was also named one of the top 10 comics to watch in Variety magazine.

‘The MTV gig is a huge deal for Russell,’ said a source to the Daily Mirror.

‘He will be beamed into living rooms right across America – everyone will know who he is by the end of the night.

‘It’s going to be tough but he has handled live awards shows before.

‘And his stand-up gigs in America have gone down a storm so he should get some encouragement in that.’
