by Lisa McGarry

Bursting out of the wrapping paper this festive season, and returning to Sky 1 HD comes All Star Christmas Presents (previously known as Noel’s Christmas Presents.) Hosted by Mount Pleasant star Sally Lindsay, the show rewards the nation’s most deserving, hard-working and selfless people.
This Christmas sees some of the UK’s most famous faces, travel the length and breadth of the county surprising people who go further than anyone else to make a positive difference to their individual communities and the people living within them. Each person selected is surprised with a once in a life time present or a trip of their dreams. Individuals or families, who need some festive cheer after a difficult 2012, will see their lives turned around with the best Christmas present ever. Sally Lindsay will join them to see their dreams come true and to make sure each person has the experience they truly deserve.

Last year Sky 1 HD took Olivia Hext, age 9,on a much longed for trip to Lapland to see the Northern Lights. Olivia, along with mum and dad, looked after her two younger brothers who both were diagnosed with Downs Syndrome and one of them with cancer. During her trip, she was delighted when her favourite singing duo Jedward surprised her in person to reward her for being a superstar big sister.

Other heart-warming stories included The Carter family from Northern Ireland, who following the death of mum Denise two years earlier were surprised with a trip to Harry Potter World; and Andrea Thompson, who launched The Jordan David Thompson Memorial Fund for Teenage Cancer Trust North East, after her son Jordan died after a 19 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Andrea’s hard work and dedication was recognised with a brand new office and celebrity patron for the charity, David Ginola.

There are plenty more heart-warming surprises in store as well as a raft of special studio guests, as Sally brings everything together for one magical night.

Sally Lindsay comments: “This Christmas is going to be truly special as we travel the country surprising people in some unusual places with some spectacular set ups. I’m delighted to play a small part in making their dreams come true.”
