Sam Smith, like millions of others around the world has a fear of flying and really thinks the worst every time he’s on a plane – which for someone like him, is a lot.
The British singer-songwriter, who we know is hard at work on his second studio album recently spoke in an interview about how he fears he’ll die each time he steps onto a plane.
While this isn’t uncommon to hear, you would think that for someone like Sam Smith who is on a plane probably every other day going here, there, and everywhere he’d be used to it by now.
Evidently not though as he’s revealed to Digital Spy that it’s possibly due to the fact he’s not in control of the situation so spends the entire flight worrying – which is a shame if you’re going to the likes of Australia, as that’s a lot of worrying.
Confessing to the website that he’s “really scared of flying” he went on to explain that he’s now working as hard as he can to get a private jet of his own and sit beside the pilot.
“I got upgraded to first class the other week, but even there I was still scared. I could be massaged for the whole flight and still think I’m going to die.” he added.
It was also suggested to Sam, like many others do, that he try hypnotherapy to overcome his fear and he revealed it’s been something he’s already been thinking about.
In a separate interview on BBC One’s ‘The One Show’ last night (4th of September) the ‘Money On My Mind’ performer spoke about meeting Beyonce at the MTV VMAs and get a photo with her.
He revealed that when he was told he was going to actually meet her he was really nervous: “When they told me I was going to meet her (Beyoncé) I wanted to be sick.”
When asked if a collaboration could happen in the future, Smith replied: “Oh, that’d be great, wouldn’t it?” – well she already said his voice was “like butter” so why not!
