Sarah Jessica Parker is returning to HBO for a brand new comedy!
According to Variety, SJP will be starring in ‘Divorce,’ a new half hour comedy that tells the story of a couple going through a very long, drawn out divorce. The show will take a comedic look at the extended divorce process, and it’s thought that Parker will play the wife in the upcoming series.
It’s thought that the former ‘Sex and the City’ actress will be taking on roles in front of and behind the camera, as she’ll be starring in and Executive Producing her new projects.
The site is reporting that the comedy’s pilot episode is still waiting to be green lit by the network. However, we know that the debut episode was actually written by Sharon Horgan, who you may recognise from ‘The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret,’ so we know the first episode has got to be pretty funny.
Horgan will also play Executive Producer with the ‘Failure To Launch’ actress, alongside Paul Simms, Alison Benson and Aaron Kaplan. More details on ‘Divorce’ are expected to be announced in the new year. As fans will know, the actress last appeared on HBO in the show that made her a household name, ‘Sex and The City,’ for six seasons between 1998 and 2004.
Since ‘Sex and The City’ ended, Parker’s appearances on the small screen have been pretty limited. The fashion icon guest starred as Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) fashion obsessed boss in three episodes of FOX’s ‘Glee’ in season 5, and she also traced her ancestry in ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ in 2010, but hasn’t been seen much otherwise.
