It has been revealed that we will be seeing some very familiar faces cropping up on Saturday Night Live throughout December.
During the month of festive cheer, three new episodes aill air in which Paul Rudd, Jimmy Fallon and John Goodman will take the reins. One Direction and Justin Timberlake will also star as musical guests.
Kicking off on December 7, Paul Rudd will serve as the main host for the third time and hit British boyband sensation One Direction will serve as the musical guests to promote their new album, Midnight Memories. This will be the second time that the guys have performed on the show. Rudd last appeared on Saturday Night Live back in 2010 in which Paul McCartney served as the musical guest.
The week after, John Goodman will make his whopping 13th appearance on the show as the main host. However, he hasn’t appeared since 2001. Kings of Leon will perform for the third time. Goodman is currently starring on Amazon’s Alpha House.
Elsewhere, Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake will buddy up on the December 21 episode – the last episode before Christmas.
Jimmy Fallon will serve as the host for the second time as Justin Timberlake is the musical guest. Fallon has made a number of appearances on past episodes which Timberlake has hosted, but this episode marks the first time that the host and musical guest have teamed up. This will be the fifth time that Justin Timberlake has served as the musical guest on the show and the second time this year. Not only that, both Timberlake and Fallon have won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for hosting SNL.
Last week, Lady Gaga hosted the show for the first time in which she also performed as the music guest. She performed tracks from her new album ‘ARTPOP’ and poked fun at herself in the process. In one sketch, she depicted what she’ll be like when she gets older and there was another hilarious sketch as she became an Apple Store Genius.
