Sci Fi To Remake Quantum Leap?

Syfy (the new name for the Sci Fi channel) Creative Director of Original Programming Mark Stern has revealed that the channel is considering airing a remake of hit time travel show, Quantum Leap.

In an interview with io9 Stern talked about the fact that they are about to reboot ‘Alien Nation’ and discussed other shows he would like to get his hands on for a remake.

I would love to find our time travel show — whether it’s literally Quantum Leap — and we’ve been talking to Don Bellisario [show creator] about [doing] that as a possibility, because what is the next really great time travel series.

Quantum Leap centred around Dr. Sam Beckett, a scientist who becomes lost in time following a botched experiment. It won multiple industry awards between March 1989 to May 1993 when it was broadcast on US TV network, NBC.

Quantum leap was fun, smart, exciting and ever evolving – if the big wigs at SCI-FI want a show that will be a success……Quantum Leap is that show.
