Scott Maslen has denied rumours that he is planning to leave Eastenders.

The hunky actor is best known as Jack Branning on the BBC soap and insiders had speculated that he may be considering a departure, after his co-star and on screen wife Samantha Womack announced her decision to quit.

However, speaking to TV Times Maslen claimed that although he is “sad” to see Sam (Ronnie Branning) go, Jack will remain in Walford.

“I’m not waltzing off anywhere!” he said.

On Womack’s decision, he said:

“We’ve been an item on the show for four years now and she’s one of my best mates – a friend of the family.

“It is sad, but she’s had a very hectic year or so. And it’s about time she had a little break to see what else she wants to do.”
