Unsurprisingly Irish rockers The Script have scored a Number (1) on the Official Albums Chart with their latest album ‘No Sound Without Silence’.
The band, who performed recently at the iTunes Festival in London have now scored their third UK chart topping album out of a possible four.
The Script’s other chart topping albums in the UK include their self-titled debut release from 2008 and ‘Science & Faith’ which was released in 2010.
Speaking about the recording process of album recently the band confessed that most of it took place on a tour bus straight after shows across the US because they were filled with adrenaline from the audience.
The Official Charts Company have reported that at Number (2) on the chart this week is singer-songwriter and actress Barbra Streisand with her new duets album ‘Partners’.
The release features collaborations with a number of big names including Michael Buble, Elvis Presley, John Legend and Lionel Richie.
‘Partners’ gives Streisand her highest charting album in the UK since ‘Love Is The Answer’ which she released back in 2009.
At Number (3) is Sam Smith with ‘In The Lonely Hour’ while Chris Brown’s sixth studio album ‘X’ debuts on the chart at Number (4) this week.
Slash, guitarist of Guns N’ Roses enters the chart this week at Number (7) with his latest release ‘World On Fire’ which also gives him his highest charting solo release to date.
Train are at Number (9) with their seventh release ‘Bulletproof Picasso’ while Catfish & The Bottlemen are at Number (10) with their debut album ‘The Balcony’.
For Counting Crows they are at Number (15) on the Official Albums Chart this week with ‘Somewhere Under Wonderland’ while Vance Joy is at Number (20) with debut release ‘Dream Your Life Away’.
Jungle have climbed a huge 26 places into Number (27) with their self-titled debut album following their shortlisting at the 2014 Mercury Prize.
Finally, the Official Charts Company have reported that Barbra Streisand completes the Top 40 with a re-entry of ‘The Ultimate Collection’ from 2010.
