It seems that because Secret Diary of a Call Girl has been such a huge hit in America, plans are now afoot to turn the hit series into a movie.

The Sun reports that Hollywood filmmakers are keen to secure our very own Billie Piper for the role, and she of course plays call girl Belle in the TV series.

The paper reports, “The movie promises to break even more sexual taboos than the TV series – based on the books and blog of real-life escort Belle de Jour – which features bondage, threesomes and S&M orgies.”

Billie told the paper, “I’m about to start filming the fourth series, and then that will be it.

“I’m not sure it has legs past four seasons so we’re trying to develop a movie.”

And a show source added, “The book has been a worldwide success and the TV show has been a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, a movie is the next obvious step.

“Billie’s career would skyrocket if the movie took off. It’s the springboard she needs to take her talent to the States.”

And while discussing how her husband Laurence Fox at first found it “difficult” to watch Billie as Belle, she revealed that after watching a few episodes, Laurence wasn’t as troubled by her on-screen romps.

She said, “We didn’t watch for ages, then recently we watched an episode or two.

“It was actually a lot more palatable than I thought, and certainly more than he thought it was going to be – so that was a relief!”
