Secret Millionaire star, Harry Clements, dies days after his TV appearance!
Fans of The Secret Millionaire would have seen fundraiser Harry Clements busking with theatre producer, David King, as well as running a St James hospital volunteer shop in Leeds, on last week’s episode of the channel4 show.
During the show, King, a self-made millionaire, was so impressed with Harry’s charity efforts he donated £25,000 to add to the £100,000 the veteran fundraiser has already raised over the past 21 years.
Mr Clements, who was awarded an MBE in 2007 for his charity work, was admitted to Leeds General Infirmary over the weekend, where he later died.
Mr King said: ‘He was an amazing man who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of others. He was a ray of light in the hospital.’
Father of two, Clements, had begun his fundraising for the hospital 25 years ago after the staff there nursed him through three heart attacks. During this time he ran a card stall at the hospital two days a week, which had several celebrity visits from the likes of Sir Jimmy Savile and Coronation Street star Liz Dawn.
