Sharon Osbourne speaks about Amy Winehouse’s death on The Talk (VIDEO)
As her daughter few to England to attend Amy Winehouse’s funeral this week, Sharon Osbourne appeared on American chat show The Talk and shared her memories of the star.
Kelly O and the ‘Back To Black’ hitmaker were close friends for many years and Winehouse spent a lot time in the home and company of Sharon and Ozzy, so they got to know the real her, as opposed to the public persona.
Speaking yesterday, during an emotional tribute, Mrs O said:
The first time I ever met Amy, Kelly said ‘I’ve got a friend from England coming over to do some promotion. She doesn’t like to stay in hotels, can she stay with us?’
And this tiny little bird of a girl comes in, she looked like a bird in a nest and she was a sweetheart of a girl. Just a lovely, lovely girl.
I can remember one time, Ozzy called Kelly and asked ‘How’s your little mate Amy?’ and she goes ‘You can talk to her now, because we’re in bed watching a movie.’
We always knew she drank a lot but we thought, she’s young, she’s enjoying her life, she’s finding her path, she’ll get over that.
On how her daughter Kelly is coping with the bereavement, Sharon admitted:
She’s not doing good, she left for England, she’s gone to see Amy’s mum. They’re holding Shivra at the house, so she’s there, with all the mates, all the girls who used to hang out.
