BBC Radio 1 have just revealed the UK Top 40 with the Official Charts Company and have revealed that this week Sigma and Paloma Faith have topped the charts with their hit ‘Changing’.
Since the track was made available as a full download it soared 114 places up the Official Singles Chart to Number (1) this week.
For Sigma this makes them the first act of 2014 to score two consecutive number one hits that sold more than 100,000 copies in its first week on sale.
Speaking to OfficialCharts.com Sigma commented: “We never thought we’d get in the charts to be honest so to have two Number 1s is just unbelievable!
“Thank you very much to everyone who has supported us and bought the records. Hopefully we’ll be back with another one for you very soon!”
Paloma Faith also commented: “It’s amazing that this is my first UK Number that I’ve achieved. I’ve done three albums so far so it just goes to show that if you hang in there, something’s got to give at some point!
“I’ve still got to push to get my own Paloma Faith Number 1 – this is a Sigma Number 1 and I’m grateful to be a part of it.”
Elsewhere in the chart Calvin Harris and John Newman, who were at the top last week fall one place into Number (2) with ‘Blame’ while ‘Prayer In C’ from Lilly Wood and Robin Schulz is at Number (3).
Professor Green scores the second highest new entry this week with ‘Lullaby’ which debuts on the Official Singles Chart at Number (4) and features US singer Tori Kelly.
George Ezra is back in the Top 10 once again with ‘Blame It On Me’ which jumped from number 20 to Number (10) on the chart this week while ‘Budapest’ climbs eight places to Number (11).
Finally, the Official Charts Company have confirmed that Hozier is at at Number (35) with ‘Take Me To Church’. The track has spent eight weeks on the Top 100 and this gives it a new peak.
